GSC, which was originally known as the Girl Scout Cookies strain, was first bred by Northern California's Cookie Family sometime about 2012. A Sativa-leaning hybrid cross between a cutting of OG Kush and the breeder’s own F1 Durban Poison strain, GSC produces a plant with multiple branches and a powerful flower. The strain has a short stature that is common on strains with Indica lineage and is known for its tight internodal structure, which creates its iconic spear-shaped flowers with lavender calyxes. The most popular phenotype produced by the first batch of GSC seeds was Thin Mints. GSC has taken home several High Times Cannabis Cup awards since it was first propagated — including a first-place trophy for Best Hybrid at the 2013 Southern California Cannabis Cup.

What it is
GSC, once known as Girl Scout Cookies, came out of Northern California's Cookie Family around 2012. The cross is OG Kush with the breeder's own F1 Durban Poison, which is why it reads as a hybrid with a sativa lean while still carrying obvious Kush weight. This is a 14 gram jar of premium flower, so a half ounce of the same cultivar rather than a mix of odds and ends.
Plants tend to stay short and bushy with plenty of branching, and the flowers come in dense and heavily frosted.
Taste and how people describe it
The classic GSC profile is dessert leaning: sweet dough and vanilla up front, then earthy Kush and a sharp minty edge on the exhale. The smoke is thick and the smell lingers in a room.
What people commonly report:
- A bright, talkative start that settles into body heaviness
- A euphoric, slightly dreamy headspace
- A long finish, more sedating as the session goes on
Effects vary from person to person and from batch to batch.
Good to know
GSC has a reputation for hitting harder than expected, so a small amount first is sensible if you are new to it. Label potency numbers reflect one tested sample and shift between harvests. Store the jar sealed, cool and out of direct light to keep the terpenes intact. Popular with customers across the San Fernando Valley who want a familiar cookie cultivar in a larger format.
