Lemon Cherry Gelato: taste, lineage and why it sells out
Lemon Cherry Gelato is the strain people ask for by name. It shows up on our order notes more than any other single strain, and when the Backpackboyz jar runs out we hear about it. Here is what it actually is.
Lineage
Lemon Cherry Gelato is usually credited to Backpackboyz and comes from Sunset Sherbet crossed with Girl Scout Cookies, with a lemon phenotype selected out of the cross. That family tree explains the taste: the Sherbet side brings the fruit, the Cookies side brings the dough and the gas.
What it tastes like
Cherry candy first, then lemon peel, then a creamy finish that lingers. The smoke is thick for a hybrid. Buds are tight, dark green with purple streaks and a heavy coat of trichomes, which is why it photographs so well and why jars of it get passed around at parties.
How people describe the effect
Most customers call it balanced. It starts bright and social and settles into something calm without turning into couch time. That is the reason it works for a Friday night with friends and for a Sunday afternoon alone. As always, effects vary by person and by batch, and the THC number on the label is a sample measurement, not a promise.
The versions we carry
- Backpackboyz Lemon Cherry Gelato, 14 g and 28 g. The original, indoor grown, labeled in the low thirties for THC. This is the jar people mean when they say LCG.
- YB Lemon Cherry Gelato, 14 g. Our own premium indoor batch, labeled a little higher than the Backpackboyz jar, at a lower price per gram.
- KAWS Lemon Cherry Gelato Infused Flower, 28 g. Flower coated with concentrate. Stronger and slower burning. Not a first-time pick.
Lemon Cherry Gelato vs Gelato
Plain Gelato (Gelato 33, Gelato 41) is creamier and more dessert-like. Lemon Cherry Gelato adds the citrus edge and, in most batches, more gas on the exhale. If you like Gelato but find it too sweet, LCG is the move.
How to buy it
Search "lemon cherry" at /products. If the Backpackboyz jar is out, the YB 14 g is the same strain from a different grow and usually in stock. We deliver it across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley; bring a valid 21+ ID to the door.
