Gummies 101: 10 mg vs 100 mg, CBN blends, and how to read the label
Gummies are the most common first cannabis purchase and the easiest one to get wrong, because the label is doing a lot of work. Here is how to read it.
The two numbers that matter
Every pack in California carries a total and a per-piece number. A pack labeled 100 mg with 10 pieces is 10 mg per gummy. A pack labeled 100 mg with 20 pieces is 5 mg per gummy. The total is the legal cap per package; the per-piece number is the one you actually use.
Ten milligrams is the standard adult serving on most packaging. People who have never had an edible usually start with half of a 10 mg piece and wait. Edibles take longer to come on than smoking, often an hour or more, and the most common mistake is taking a second piece during that wait.
The brands we stock
- Froot: 100 mg packs of ten, 10 mg each, in fruit flavors like Watermelon, Orange Tangie, Blue Razz and Grape Ape. Their M.Y. Sleep pack is 20 pieces at 5 mg with a THC to CBN ratio of 2.5 to 1.
- KANHA: the widest range on our shelf, classic fruit flavors and specialty lines.
- WYLD: fruit-forward, made with real fruit, a common pick for people who care about taste.
- Eighth Brother Cut-a-Dose: a single 100 mg gummy scored into segments, so you break off what you want. Comes in Watermelon and a CBN Pomegranate.
- STIIIZY and West Coast Cure: familiar names from the vape shelf with their own gummy lines.
- Solventless gummies: made from rosin instead of distillate. Some people prefer the taste and the way it feels; they cost a bit more.
What CBN and 1:1 mean
Some packs list a second cannabinoid. CBN blends are marketed for nighttime and usually carry a moon or "sleep" on the box. A 1:1 CBD to THC pack, like Froot Peach, has equal milligrams of both, and many people describe the CBD side as taking the edge off. These are descriptions from the makers and from customers, not medical claims; we are a delivery shop, not a clinic.
Storage
Keep gummies sealed, cool and out of reach of anyone under 21 and any pet. Heat melts them into one block, which makes dosing impossible.
